Dean Russell Mertens is a skilled professional in the field of Structural Engineering. Presently, he is at Rilco Manufacturing Company, Inc. He specializes in managing research and development departments, generating test reports, preparing calculation documents, and designing products. Additionally, he also has expertise in standardized product design allowing the engineering department to expedite orders for production. He works with passion and responsibility to ensure that he will broaden his knowledge in the Structural Engineering domain.
Besides this, Russell Mertens has also been associated with Hermann Park Conservancy. It is a non-profit organization which works for conservation and improvement of Hermann Park, the most-visited public park in the City of Houston. From December 2009 to January 2010, he was at Cobb, Fendley and Associates, Inc. Working there as a Civil Engineering Intern, he collected data for a road construction project.
He performs his duty with sincerity and dedication. He collaborates with project managers and purchasing agents, which is a vital requirement for every company to run proficiently. He has a wide range of technical skills including Pspice, Fire Dynamic Simulator, Matlab, Pro-Engineer, SAP2000, Mastan2, Visual Basic, MS Excel, Inventor, AutoCAD, Arcview, and more.
Dean Russell Mertens went to the University of Houston and completed his Bachelor of Science in Engineering in May of 2012.
He attended Engineering Leadership Conference at Southern Methodist University from May 16 – 19, 2011 in Dallas, TX where he received valuable information in preparation of real world experiences and learned critical skills for success in the future. He also attended Student Research Conference at the University of Houston-Downtown in Houston, TX, and took part in Concrete Canoe Competition at the University of Houston in Corpus Christi Bay, TX.
Traveling and exploring new places is his hobby. Additionally, he also likes to play various sports including basketball, golf, snowboarding, and wakeboarding. Although his schedule remains busy, he always gives time to his family members by spending moments with them. Moreover, he is a benevolent and kind person. He has done a lot to eradicate social problems by giving his support. He supports and gives donations to various social welfare organizations.
